Open Education in Serbia

Open Education in Serbia project is implemented by EdTech Center in the Western Balkans and  Computer Centre of the University of Belgrade. Project is supported by project “Open data – open opportunities”, implemented United Nations Development Programme and Office for information technologies and Electronic Governance with support from World Bank and UK Good Governance Fund. Programme is also supported by Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and company Oracle.

Project will provide support to teachers of computer science to introduce concept of Open Data to students from Secondary Schools in republic of Serbia. Project will provide training, resources and support to teachers to present to students what is open data, why this kind of data is important and how it can be used to purposefully to generate new ideas and solutions and also help students to understand the possibilities offered by the choice of profession in the field of IT.

Who can take part of the project?

This project is open to all secondary schools.

How my school can get involved?

Registration for taking part in this project is over. However, thanks to materials and resources we have prepared, all teachers from Republic of Serbia now can work with their students on project based on open data.

 I am not a computer science teacher, can I get involved?

Yes, you can. Although this project is primarily focused on ICT teachers, any teacher with its students can apply to be part on this project. Open data can be used really in almost all secondary school subject, pending your imagination and creativity.
